If you visit Yogyakarta, Borobudur Temple is a place you must visit, here is a great masterpiece of the world is located. You can see for yourself how magnificent a historic building.

The location is about 40 km northwest of the city of Yogyakarta, a temple built by the followers of Mahayana Buddhism which has 1460 relief panels and 504 Buddha stupas.

Every step up the stairs of Borobudur Temple while looking around that looks just effigies and reliefs, you will be amazed and believe in the greatness of the name Borobudur Temple. Borobudur Temple building consists of 10 levels. Each level represents the stages of human life. According to Mahayana Buddhism, each level of the building is the level of human life.

Borobudur has the basic structure stratified, with six square terraces, three round circular terraces and a main stupa as a peak. I am impressed with its architecture and ever wondered how people first (estimated built in 800 AD) could make the building as big and as grand as Borobudur Temple just by attaching one stone with another to form a temple building, incredible.

Lovely hub, Aris. I was drawn to it because Yogyakarta and Borobudur was a place I really wanted to visit when I visited Bali in 1998. This holiday was the best trip I have ever been on - I loved the culture, dance, art, batiks and local people. Heading over to Java was part of the plan, but unfortunately we did not end up going. Still, reading your hub showed me a little of what it is like, and maybe I will get to go one day! Probably not for a while though, it is a very long way from England!
